In 2015, Foundry started as an idea from a small group of caring staff and doctors. Communities across BC joined forces to help Foundry grow. It has now evolved into a province-wide network, and a national model for Integrated Youth Services.

Foundry is an initiative led by Providence Health Care, working in partnership with the Government of British Columbia. The Province provides one-time start-up funding to help establish centres, and ongoing core funding for service delivery. Local lead agencies fundraise to cover additional start-up costs needed to open their centres, often tailoring spaces to the unique needs of their communities.

This partnership ensures that:

    • The Province plays a critical role in launching centres and sustaining services
    • Local fundraising generates community awareness and engagement and ensures that once open, centres meet the unique needs of their communities and the youth and families they serve.
